Who Actually Benefits from Your United Way Contribution?
Just look around you...
Because of your donations, people like Gracie . Gracie has epilepsy, most likely caused by a rare neurological disorder called "Neurofibromitosis." Gracie has received speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as well as skilled nursing care, from Special Kids, a United Way funded agency. Your contribution continues to make a difference for Gracie and for countless others here in Rutherford County by funding 47 local agencies that can provide needed help.
Because of your donations, people like Rebecca Mettes. A massive heart attack left Rebecca weak, and unable to work. After being laid off by her employer during her illness, she didn't know where to turn. That's where United Way came in. Rebecca received emergency food assistance from the Smyrna/LaVergne Food Bank, help with utilities and prescriptions from Community Helpers, and low cost health care from the Primary Care and Hope Clinic. Now you'll sometimes see Rebecca volunteering her time at one of these United Way agencies - her way of saying thanks for all the help she received to get back on her feet. Your contribution continues to make a difference for Rebecca and for countless others here in Rutherford County by funding 47 local agencies that can provide needed help.
Because of your donations, people like Chance, Derrick, and Cyle , three brothers who benefit from United Way dollars every day. Their father, Jeremy, suddenly became a single parent and needed somewhere safe for the boys to go after school. That's when he turned to the Boys and Girls Club, a United Way funded agency. Every day the boys play basketball, get help with their homework, and eat a healthy snack, all while their father is at work. And every fall, Jeremy donates to United Way through the annual campaign at his workplace....just his way of saying thanks. Your contribution continues to make a difference for this family and for countless others here in Rutherford County by funding 47 local agencies that can provide needed help.
Because of your donations, people like Zoe and Sophia Patton . Both Zoe and Sophia receive intensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy 4 days a week at Project HELP, a United Way funded agency. The therapy is making a huge difference in the girls' young lives, but their family is also extremely thankful for the financial freedom this agency allows. Like other Untied Way agencies, Project HELP offers its services completely free of charge to children with disabilities...and that makes a big difference to families in need. Your contribution continues to make a difference for Zoe and Sophia and for countless others right here in Rutherford County.
