United Way Announces Partnership with Murfreesboro Young Professionals, Inc.
United Way to serve as organization’s primary non-profit partner.
The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has announced a partnership with the Murfreesboro Young Professionals, Inc. (MYP) that will include United Way serving as MYP’s primary non-profit partner. MYP will also have involvement in United Way’s volunteer leadership through its Board of Directors and operational committees.
“United Way is privileged to have the opportunity to collaborate with such a dynamic group of young professionals in our community. These individuals are the future community and business leaders, and we are excited to see them understand the value of investing in the quality of life issues early in their careers,” said Brian Hercules, President and CEO of the local United Way.
Additionally, Chassen Haynes, MYP’s Executive Chairman, said, “Along with networking and professional development, MYP recognizes that an appreciation for community service is a key attribute of a well-rounded professional. Working alongside United Way to mutually promote our missions will allow us to volunteer our time and resources where they are needed most.”
MYP, founded in 2010, hosted its first fundraiser in January 2011 – a trivia night that benefitted the local United Way. MYP is a membership-driven, non-profit organization aimed at creating a unique community for professionals to develop personally, professionally and civically by maximizing their individual and collective potential.
