United Way to Host First Red, White, and Blues Event
Signature event will raise funds for 44 partner agencies and initiatives.
United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties will host its first Red, White, and Blues event on July 10th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will be held at the historic Marymont Mansion where guests can enjoy a relaxing evening filled with food, fun, and music that is reminiscent of the southern coastal areas.
Located on 1124 Rucker Lane, the Marymont Mansion was built around 1861 and is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. Constructed on 640 acres, the mansion has southern charm and elegance which can be seen in its hand-made brick that was kiln-fired on the mansion’s property.
The Marymont Mansion is the centerpiece for Murfreesboro’s Marymont Springs development. Marymont Springs consists of five sections that reflect the architecture and essence of the Marymont Mansion, which has been described as one of the last large Classical Revival homes erected in Middle Tennessee prior to the Civil War.
The Red, White, and Blues event will involve a low country boil dinner, beverages, live blues music, crab racing, and event shirt - all of which are included in the $75 per person cost ($50 per person is tax deductible). All proceeds will benefit the 44 partner agencies and initiatives of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties. Please contact United Way at 893-7303 to purchase tickets. The deadline to purchase tickets is June 30th.
