The Loaned Executives are volunteers or are selected by their employer to assist United Way with the annual campaign, either part-time or full-time, while the employer continues to provide the individual’s salary and expenses. The Loaned Executives serve as account managers, campaign advocates, and provide general support to the United Way staff and campaign cabinet.
The Loaned Executives work closely with an assigned member of the Campaign Cabinet, which is an additional group of volunteers who develop campaigns by division, such as retail, healthcare, or schools.
The Loaned Executives are also able to develop their leadership, project management, and communication skills that prepare them for expanded job-related responsibilities as well as establish valuable professional networks with local business and community leaders.
Moreover, the Loaned Executive program also allows United Way to keep overhead costs low during the campaign so that a higher percentage of each donor’s dollar can be invested back into the local non-profit organizations who are most in need.
