Campaign Committee
The Campaign Committee's responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing long-range fundraising goals and strategies
- Providing strategic direction to overall fundraising efforts for the annual campaign
- Cultivating relationships within the business community to build awareness of the financial needs and mission of the UWRCC
- Engaging target audiences beyond the annual campaign
Community Initiatives Committee
The Community Initiatives Committee's responsibilities include:
- Help govern and steer the Success By 6 initiative to meet licensing requirements set by United Way Worldwide
- Work collaboratively with United Way and Community Partners to share responsibilities and accountability for the following initiatives success: 2-1-1, Project PASS, and Success By 6
- Identify needs within the communities of Rutherford and Cannon Counties and set goals on how collaboratively we can meet those needs
- Help distribute resource guides and education materials to the community
- Advocate for early learning programs as well as adult education programs
Community Impact Committee
The Community Impact Committee's responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the fund distribution process, including agency applications and reports
- Strengthening the non-profit sector of the community by determining and providing needed and appropriate resources (beyond funding) to non-profit agencies
- Strengthening United Way’s relationship with human service organizations in the community
- Acting as a networking link among various human service organizations, both those that are funded by United Way and those that are not
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee's responsibilities include:
- Presenting United Way's image to the public
- Building relationships in and with the community
- Communicating the impact United Way’s work has in and on the community
- Educating the public about philanthropy and ways to engage in thoughtful charitable giving
- Working through the media and personal contacts to meet these aims
- Working to recruit new members for the Board of Directors on an ongoing basis
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee 's responsibilities include:
- Oversight of financial transactions
- Development of financial operational guidelines
- Review and approval of monthly financial statements
- Approval of annual budget for the organization, making recommendation to the Board
- Oversight of the annual audit process
Allocation Panels
The Allocation Panels meet each spring. These panels make funding recommendations to the Community Impact Committee which then passes along those recommendations to the Board of Directors. Their responsibilities include:
- Reviewing funding applications
- Meeting with representatives from each agency applying for funding
- Developing funding recommendations
Policy/Nominations Committee
The Policy/Nominations Committee's responsibilities include:
- Evaluating, preparing, and amending if necessary the policies and procedures governing the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties
- Identifying, nominating, and electing candidates from the community to serve as officers on the Board of Directors as vacancies occur
Strategic Planning Committee
The Strategic Planning Committee is responsible for:
- Developing a statement of strategic initiatives for our United Way
- Developing action steps with timelines and staff and volunteer responsibilities, to ensure that the plan will be implemented
- Regularly monitoring progress on the strategic plan, and reporting this progress to the Board
- Overseeing the development and progress of the organization’s annual work plan
